This week, I am focusing on touching base and mentioning what I’m up to.
I will be recording some podcast episodes for this blog, and they will be motivational. They’ll be talks about the things I feel every day, and I hope you can relate to them. My goal is that you find some confidence and power through these episodes.
It’s not therapy per se. It’s more therapeutic because I’ll be opening up about the things I do and think about. I wish these things were better for myself and anyone out there who is genuinely struggling.
I find it hard sometimes to organise my thoughts and ideas. Occasionally, they flood in so fast that it becomes overwhelming. I think I might have ADHD. I’ve done a couple of tests online that suggest I do. I’m not officially diagnosed, but I recognise some of the symptoms within myself.
I get easily distracted and often forget what I’m doing because something else catches my attention. Sometimes, I’m overwhelmed and overstimulated by my own thoughts, as well as everything around me.
I struggle to say no to people. It’s especially hard if it’s something I don’t want to do. I’ve previously expressed some interest in it, which makes it difficult. Somehow, I end up volunteering even to do research, which leads to feeling overwhelmed. It’s tough, genuinely tough.
I’m working through it, though. It’s something I’ve been addressing for a while. I know it’s not something that’ll be fixed overnight—it’s something I’ll likely manage for the rest of my life. But I’m grateful that I’ve recognised it for what it is because now I’m better able to help myself focus.
I’ve found little things that help me focus. When I concentrate on one goal, topic, or subject, I’m usually able to achieve and finish it. But I have found that if I break up my time—like using time blocking—I struggle to complete projects. However, when I do deep work, I achieve much more. I’m able to reach a certain point or even go further than I normally would.
Discovering this about myself has been incredibly helpful. So, I’m making a podcast about it. It’ll be a limited series, not an ongoing project. Each season will have about ten episodes. I’ll research a little, sit down, focus on the topics, record, and share them.
They’ll be available on YouTube and any podcast platforms out there. So yes, that’s where I’m at this week. I hope to see you next week—or rather, connect with you next week!
