Who is the person behind the blog?

Who is Omuntu? Why is Omuntu? What is Omuntu?

I hope you get where I am going with that #MoviePartQuotes

I am slowly discovering that it’s okay to make mistakes as much as I celebrate the wins. After all, I am only human. But what does this really mean? Especially when the world keeps turning, and I am continuing to understand my purpose in life.

This sounds deep, but that is not my intention. I just love asking questions about life, and sharing thoughts. Starting a group these days feels like a cult, so I thought a blog was the next best thing. Why not? Give it time, there will definitely be a blog as well. I mean, I have already talked about it, but that is all I have done… talked about it.

Anyhoos, I am Pauline. And this blog isn’t about offering answers—it’s about sharing my thoughts and opinions. Through storytelling, reflection, and exploration, I navigate self-worth. I explore creativity and mental health. I also contemplate how to exist in a world that never stops moving.

Oh, and why the word ‘Omuntu’? Well, I am Bantu and it felt fitting. **Omuntu (noun) – A Bantu word meaning “person” or “human being.” Just putting this here in case you skipped the homepage!

Why I Started Omuntu

I just wanted to start another blog really, seeing as the first one wasn’t enough.

Real talk though, I believed it would be a good idea to share my thoughts the way I want to. As the digital world changes, I struggle more to figure out how my creative skills are now relevant. As the years gone by, I am finding that the things that used to make me happy, no longer do. Creative things like writing, acting and telling jokes. I have been helping others create their work and forgetting about my own.

But now that I say that out loud, it sounds little sad. Gosh! This was meant to be funny. Maybe I am not as funny as I think that I am.
Anyhoos! Before I start spiraling into an existential crisis, I started this blog in an attempt to figure out how I fit in. This blog is a place for me to share and engage in an honest reflection of my being with you.

And I would love to hear your anecdotes too.

I’d like to think of Omuntu as a blog that’s like a late-night chat with a good friend, where we laugh at the absurdity of life, rant about existential crises, and somehow land on a half-baked revelation about what it means to be human.

It may feel messy, it may sound weird, and it probably involves too much overthinking—but hey, that’s the fun of it.
